25 years ago, on 4th of July weekend, I experienced partial vision loss in my left eye... I was referred to Dr Kirsch who met me at the office, coming straight from his family BBQ. He explained what was happening to me in language I could understand, and although I was terrified at the diagnosis of a partially detached retina he assured me we had caught it early enough to fix. I have always had poor vision and motor control in that eye, and the week retinas were just the final straw....That started a long-term relationship with setbacks and what I consider to be miracles. I have watched the technology change so much from those first visits and procedures. Ophthalmology is an amazing specialty and I am very grateful to have Dr Kirsch as my doctor.
Once in awhile it takes longer to get seen, but the staff is always on top of it and checking on people. Because I have been that emergency patient who took the doctor away from somebody else, and the patient whose eyes don't dilate and cause delays in treatment I completely understand the delays, I will gladly wait, knowing that if there's a reason.

FLOATERS ARE GONE.

I had posterior vitreous detachment in both eyes after my cataract surgeries last year. In a literal instant, floaters appeared in both eyes. It was as if I had a permanent case of eye boogers or a layer of Vaseline smeared across my eyes. Only thing is you can't wipe any of it away and the floaters constantly move around your field of vision at their own will.
It sure does sound scary but apparently ophthalmologists say it's a natural occurence with age, it is completely benign and that there is no treatment for it other than surgery.
I frequently heard dismissals of my floater concerns with comments such as: "Your eyes will eventually adjust and they will be a non-issue" and "I wouldn't risk surgery, try to live with it." Unfortunately for me, they were in my line of sight the majority of time which was seriously affecting my quality of life. I went to Dr. Kirsch to ask initially about laser treatment of the floaters. He was very frank about my condition and explained everything in layman's terms that made complete sense. I was able to take that information along with knowing that he has decades of experience behind his expertise and made the decision to schedule a vitrectomy surgery for my left eye. The instant relief prompted me to schedule surgery for my right eye right away. For the first time in years I have clear vision. Thank you very much Dr. Kirsch for your great care and expertise with my eyes. The clear vision that I now have is priceless.

Had to call for an eye issue that happened over the weekend and Dr Kirsch's staff scheduled me in quickly. Dr Kirsch ordered a full exam plus sonogram of my eye. His quick attention to the issue of my right eye and full exam also discovered a swelling in my left eye. His detailed attention saved my vision in both eyes.
